This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a sound theoretical knowledge base in marketing and communication and who demonstrate a range of skills to ensure that functions are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area. Typically, the individuals would have responsibility for the work of other staff and lead teams.
This qualification applies to individuals in full-time marketing roles, as well as those who are responsible for an organisation’s marketing in addition to other duties.

  • Entry requirements for this qualification in the training package are either BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication; or successful completion of following units: (or equivalent competencies): BSBCMM411 Make presentations; BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas; BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities; BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour; BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry; and BSBWRT411 Write complex documents; or Having two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.

    CCMT has set its own entry requirements as follows:

    International students must:

    • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have completed at least Australian Year 12 or equivalent school studies.
    • Have BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication; or successful completion of following units: (or equivalent competencies): BSBCMM411 Make presentations; BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas; BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities; BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour; BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry; and BSBWRT411 Write complex documents; or having two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience. CCMT may verify the work experience.
    • Have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent score in other English skills tests (Test results must be no more than 2 years old).
    • Participate in a Course Entry Interview to demonstrate their suitability for this course (their career goals, reasons for studying this course, etc).

    International Students may not be required to provide evidence of scores in English Language Test where documented evidence can be provided to demonstrate any of the following:

    • Students who have completed at least five years’ study in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
    • Citizens and passport holders of one of the following English‑speaking countries: UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland

    Students who have successfully completed in Australia in the English language either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or 50% of the units of a Certificate IV or higher-level course, in the two years before applying for the student visa.

This qualification will be delivered 14 hours face to face per week in the campus and 6 hours online per week. This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks in total. Total number of weeks for training and assessment is 40 weeks over 5 terms. Number of holidays is 12 weeks, spread over 4 term breaks of 3 weeks each. No term break is given after last term.

Career Development Manager (Education Sector), RTO Manager, RTO Education Twelve (12) units including five (05) core units and seven (07) elective units are required to pass for the award of the BSB50620 – Diploma of Marketing and Communication. Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and qualification level.

The costs for this course are as follows:

The study materials are provided to students by CCMT and are included in total course fees.

  • Target groups for the BSB50620 – Diploma of Marketing and Communication are international students, who holds BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication (or eligible units) and are:

    • Seeking to pursue or further a career in marketing and communication sector.
    • Seeking to enter a new industry
    • Seeking a pathway to higher level qualifications.

    The applicants will hold BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication but may not have any marketing work experience.

    CCMT expects that a student will be able to read, comprehend and write a range of texts in English within a variety of contexts. S/he will be able to use and respond to spoken language including some unfamiliar material within a variety of contexts and will be able to recognise and use a variety of conventions and symbolism of formal mathematics.

Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into a range of  Advanced Diploma qualifications, such as the BSB60520 Adv Diploma of Marketing and Communication.

Potential employment options are in businesses and companies in the roles such as Sales Manager, Product Manager, Public Relations Manager, Marketing Manager, Campaign Manager, Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Team Leader, etc.
