Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have established specialised skills in a technical ICT function. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, as part of a team or leading a deliverable with others. They may apply their skills across a wide range of industries, business functions and departments, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor).

CCMT has set its own entry requirements as follows:

International students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have completed at least Australian Year 12 or equivalent school studies.
  • Have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent score in other
  • English skills tests (Test results must be no more than 2 years old).
  • Participate in a Course Entry Interview to demonstrate their suitability for this course (their career goals, reasons for studying this course, etc).
  • Pass LLN Test conducted by CCMT.
  • International Students may not be required to provide evidence of scores in English Language Test where documented evidence can be provided to demonstrate any of the following:

– Students who have completed at least five years’ study in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.

-Citizens and passport holders of one of the following English‑speaking countries: UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland

-Students who have successfully completed in Australia in the English language either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or 50% of the units of a Certificate IV or higher-level course, in the two years before applying for the student visa.

This qualification will be delivered 14 hours face to face per week in the campus and 6 hours online. Total duration is 65 weeks. This includes 50 weeks of training and assessment spread over 5 full terms. 15 weeks of holidays are spread over 5 terms breaks. There will be no term breaks after last term.

The ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology requires the completion of 6 core and 14 elective units. Electives for this qualification have been chosen by Canberra College of Management and Technology to ensure that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in IT.

The costs for this course are as follows:

Application Processing Fee $250 (non-refundable to be paid on application)

The study materials are provided to students by CCMT and are included in total course fees.

• Off-shore student, who have just passed Australian Year 12 or equivalent school studies, who may have little or no vocational experience, but who possess learning skills and knowledge that they would utilize to develop information technology (IT) skills. • Holders of Certificates/other qualifications in IT or/and who may have previous experience in related profession overseas/onshore and are interested in developing their IT knowledge and skills. CCMT will provide RPL/Credit for eligible student for specific units of this qualification on a case-to-case basis and then place the student in suitable term, if available.
